1. Your wedding dress is going to get dirty!

No Matter if you are going outside, or if you are staying inside, it is a white dress dragging the floor. It is going to get dirty! Do not stress, do not tell your photographer no that you do not want to go outside and miss out on an opportunity to take photos in a beautiful location. It is going to get dirty no matter what. Let is get dirty and get the best photos you possibly can, and enjoy your wedding day to the fullest!

2. If your wedding guests see you before the ceremony, it is not a big deal!

Some guests arrive a hour before the ceremony, making it super difficult to hide from every single guest. I have some brides stop me in the middle of taking photos so they can go hide in their bridal suite so no ones see them. I can promise you, it’s not that big of a deal if some guests do see you before your ceremony! No matter what, they are going to be surprised when you are walking down the aisle when they see you up close, and how beautiful you look. Plus, if you want to stay in line with the timeline, we need to finish the grouping of photos before you go hide in your bridal suite. The only person we really need to hide you from is your groom if you choose not to do a first look.

3. Just because we create a timeline, doesn’t mean your wedding day will not get off of schedule!

We are most likely going to get off of the timeline at some point in the day, and it is perfectly okay! I as your photographer create a timeline that fits your wedding day coverage the best. It helps to keep us moving and know exactly what comes next! If we are off by five, ten, or twenty minutes, DO NOT STRESS! It happens, and we definitely will catch back up at some point during the day. We will make up time, we might just have to move a little bit faster! I have photographer over 100 weddings, and know what I am doing. I’ve got your back, and we will get through it together!

4. Wedding photographers book up SO FAST!

It is January 2026, and I have been fully booked for 2026 for over 6 months now. Along with that, I also already have a handful of 2027 dates booked with May and June of 2027 becoming super full! Book your vendors quickly! I know a lot of couples like to wait because they want to search for the most perfect vendors, which I completely understand. Be mindful that we do book up fast, and we are not going to turn a bride away if they are ready to sign a contract!

5. If you do not choose to do a first look, we will be taking a lot of photos after the ceremony!

Which is completely okay! I’m not a photographer to push my couples one way or the other. This is 100% YOUR decision as it is your wedding day, I am just there to capture it! It will mess up the timeline a little bit where you are taking more photos than you want after your ceremony. I do take as many photos as I can before your ceremony including bride & bridesmaid photos, groom & groomsmen photos, along with all bridal and groom individual portraits, and immediate family portraits. Meaning after your ceremony, we would still have all bride and groom couples portraits, combined family portraits, along with full wedding party portraits. If you are wanting to be a part of your cocktail hour, consider doing a first look. If you don’t care about cocktail hour, you can wait until the ceremony yo see each other! It’s your decision.
